The church has installed a Peace Pole inscribed with the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in English, Hebrew, Arabic, Lenni Lenape, Spanish, Swahili, Chinese, and Leaf Prints (symbolic of our Green Sanctuary status). The red cedar pole represents the many peoples on Earth and recognizes some of the sources of inspiration for Unitarian Universalist values. The Peace Pole was dedicated in memory of Ann Hennessy -- a tireless advocate for peace -- at a ceremony on September 27th. The song, "Peace is Flowing Like a River" was one of Ann's favorite songs. |
