Overview
The Caring Program is designed to serve members and friends of UUCR and their families, and to facilitate support from the UUCR community as a whole, to situations of need. Some requests may be referred to other local service providers and resources. Directories and initial support to access outside services will be available.
UUCR Caring Program services are accessed by calling the church office to request a call back from or identify the name of the Care Coordinator on the taped message. The Care Coordinator(s) shall rotate and current contact information will be available at the church office. This Program is coordinated the Membership and Outreach Committee. The request will be assessed ASAP by phone or in person. Services will be appropriately assigned using a confidential written format to clarify the service plan.
The Caring Program consists of coordinated services offered by two groups.
- One group is the Lotsofhelpinghands (LHH) UUCR Caregivers. UUCR Caregivers coordinate various volunteer opportunities using the online (LHH) calendar tool. This process and tool will be coordinated by the Membership and Outreach Committee.
- The other group is the Pastoral Associate (PA) program. This spiritual counseling service, is set up to supplement the assistance provided by Rev. Greg Chute. The PA’s term of service will be determined by the UUCR Board. PA training has been offered on two occasions by Rev. Greg Chute, and future training will be offered as needed.
UUCR currently has 8 PAs.
